Internet of Things: Gaslighting and the Smart Home
- Following a value sensitive design process, students consider how a "Smart Home" can be used for control and abuse, and emphasizing the interests of both direct and indirect stakeholders, students envision solutions. Design brief includes substantial scaffolding for students new to value sensitive design. Scaled for about about 6 hours of studio time plus about 10 hours outside of class. Prepared for undergraduate teaching, Spring, 2019.

Prototyping and Values
- Following a value sensitive design process, students develop low-fi prototypes for ordering pizza. They key challenge: Develop technical mechanisms that a reflect two values "libertarian-paternalism" and "fun." Project brief includes a good deal of scaffolding. Scaled for about 6 studio hours plus about 10 outside hours. Prepared for undergraduate teaching.
